OUR FURRY ROUTINES...
Every evening Bonnie comes skidding and sliding over the wooden floor and rushes to the bathroom. It’s our bonding moment just before bed. Bon jumps up on the lid of the toilet and watches me closely when I put toothpaste on my toothbrush and start brushing.
If she doesn’t like the rhythm or sounds she will stretch her self out and stand with two pays on the sink to have a closer look. Every night I have my own watch dog making sure that I clean my teeth properly. Otherwise I am not allowed to leave the bathroom until it’s all minty fresh and pearly white.
OUR FUN AND GAMES...
Another thing Bon, my BFF and I love to do is hide and go seek. One of us stays with Bon and confuses her a little and the other one retraces their steps and try to hide their scent while hidden a way behind the shower curtain, rocking chair, blanket, throw pillows or lying down in the bathtub.
Bonnie then gets released and starts sniffing away. There really is a noticeable difference in success rate when we a) just have showered, b) used a new perfume or c) covered ourselves with her own blanket. When she does find us it’s the happiest moment of the day…so much tail wagging and excited jumps.
TIME TO PLAY PRETEND...
Jen told me that because Denali and Fox are such magical and majestic creatures…she likes to pretend they are horsies. No she doesn’t ride them, she has real horses for that, but she holds on to their collars and makes typical horse encouragement sounds and lets her imagination roam free. (I guess they star alongside Ewoks and StarTroopers as well as unicorn adventures.)
We both like to get our sing-a-long on. When I sing to Bon she usually tries to hide between her paws, then looks at me curiously and them makes very short whining noises. I
get the feeling Bonnie is not all that much into singing or it might just be that I sing horribly off key. It’s still super fun to see her being a bit confused and wondering “where did I end up? The loony bin?” Jen told me that Denali likes to sing up it. He likes to make his typical Husky voices and let it be known that he too, has a good voice and needs recognition.
Bonnie really hates any type of clothing. She will either try to rip it up or she pretends that she is paralysed from the head down. (And pulls really, really sad faces :-) However, Jen is more fortunate with her dogs in that department..they don’t really mind to dress up a bit and play pretend. She recreated scenes from Harry Potter, Star Wars etc. The end results are always fun and very original.
AND THE NAME GAME...
And last but not least the funniest would probably be coming up with weird names for our fur babies…Bonnie is also known as…Anubis, stinky, food slurpee, lil weirdo and bat dog. (She keeps the streets of Gotham city clean…because you know..have you seen her amazing ears?)
Fox and Denali also have a vast library of nicknames! Jen has been known to call Fox, Foxlicious (because he is a total babe), FoxyLocksy (for his long flowing hair), BooBooFace, Poopamoungus, BananaHead, and WooWoo, While Denali has earned the names NaNaFluffnSqueeze, YubYub (for his "yub" sounding husky talk), FluffyBunnyPuppy (because he is so bouncy, and LazyNazy ,
